philosophy:
success is a word often described in terms of dollars and cents. Maureen believes that "success" extends far beyond numbers. She defines success as being happy in one's work and life. Furthermore, Maureen measures success as the alignment of one's soul with one's true calling. It means realizing your dreams and going for it, which is exactly what Maureen did when she launched her own interior design business: mint, inc.

experience:
Maureen's first job after graduating from the College of St. Benedict was working at Southdale Dayton’s Home Store in the Master Plan Department. Her responsibilities included: furniture layout plans, furniture selections, textile selections, lighting and accessories selections. It was in this setting that Maureen knew she was in her element. She realized how much she loved interior design and the role she played in helping people create functional, aesthetically pleasing and specific environments of their own.

It wasn't long before others took notice of Maureen's exceptional talent. She proceeded to work for several of the most notable showrooms at International Market Square (Gene Smiley, F. Schumacher & Co. and Baker, Knapp & Tubbs) and the most highly regarded interior design firms (William Beson Interior Design, Gunkelman’s Interior Design, Pappas, and David Heide Design Studio) in the Twin Cities. Maureen had the opportunity to work very closely with clients and build trusting relationships with them. Her extensive experience gave Maureen the capability and capacity to develop her own version of the design process, which values clients as creative partners necessary to the success of each and every project.

fresh beginning:
In December of 2007, Maureen opened her own interior design firm in which she serves as the principal interior designer. Her many years of experience and proven talent in concert with her vast resources and belief in the importance of the partnership with her clients make Maureen one of the most respected designers in the metropolitan area. Her keen ability to marry unexpected textiles, colors and materials in ways that speak to her clients' individual needs and tastes make her an invaluable asset to any interior design project, large or small.

interests:
When she’s not designing, Maureen loves working in her garden and spending quality time with family and her miniature Dachshund, Gracie. She strongly believes in giving back to the community and works with several local charities/organizations, including:

• Longtime and active member of ASID, Minnesota Chapter
• Co-chair of ASID Design Awards, 2008-2010
• ASID Board of Directors and Finance Director (recently re-elected to second two-year term)
• Co-chair, ASID Sponsorship Committee; serves on the ASID Public Relations Committee
• One of 21 local designers selected by the Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association (WAMSO) to participate in 2011 Settings of Note fundraiser
• Board member, Children’s Hospital Association, serving on the Table Talk and Storyland Ball Committees)

Maureen is enjoying her success as an independent interior designer and welcomes the challenges and opportunities the future may bring.
